Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has officially confirmed his much-anticipated project, The Idiot of Istanbul, which will feature acclaimed Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil. The film will mark Fahadh’s highly awaited debut in Bollywood. Sharing his thoughts in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ali revealed his excitement about the project while providing a glimpse into its developmental phase.

Speaking about The Idiot of Istanbul, Imtiaz Ali stated, “This announcement is out. But, it’s a little ahead of its time. There is a movie, but, I don’t know it might not be the next one up. But, yes, I have been trying to make this film for a long time. It’s called The Idiot of Istanbul. I would love to do this and my plan is to make this film with Fahadh.”
Reports suggest that the film will also feature actress Triptii Dimri alongside Fahadh, creating even more anticipation among fans. Shooting is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2025, heightening excitement for what many hope will be another masterpiece from Imtiaz Ali, known for helming celebrated films like Jab We Met and Tamasha.
